Landmarks in the history of Senate Properties

* 3 September 1811 founding of the office of intendant to supervise the planning of government buildings
* 1865 the office was renamed the Board of Public Buildings
* 1936 the name was changed to the National Board of Public Building
* 1995 the National Board of Public Building was closed and the State Real Property Agency was established
* 1999 the State Real Property Agency became a government owned enterprise
* 1999 the State Real Property Agency assumed responsibility for major cultural properties of the Ministry of Education including Ateneum, which houses the Finnish National Gallery, the National Opera Building and Kiasma, which houses the Museum of Contemporary Art
* 2001 the State Real Property Agency assumed responsibility for prison properties
* 1 March 2001 the State Real Property Agency was renamed Senate Properties
